ArtiMental designs and implements initiatives that combine artistic creation with psychoeducation, aiming at the empowerment and development of individuals and communities.
Our work is based on Non-Formal Education and Experiential Learning, which encourage active participation, personal development, and collaborative learning. We incorporate elements of Libertarian Pedagogy and Free Education, emphasizing autonomy, freedom of expression, and non-directive education.
Our methodology is inspired by John Dewey’s theory of experiential learning and David Kolb’s learning cycle, while also drawing from Paulo Freire’s critical pedagogy.
Psychoeducation is a set of actions and interventions that help people better understand themselves and develop skills that support them in daily life. Through experiential activities and non-formal education, mental and emotional health is strengthened, and skills are cultivated that improve relationships and quality of life within the community.
Non-formal education is a form of learning that does not take place in a traditional classroom. Through experiences, creative activities, and collaboration, participants develop life skills, enhance critical thinking, increase self-confidence, and learn to function more creatively and collectively. It is a type of learning that “happens live” and is directly connected to everyday life and the community, while not requiring prior knowledge or special skills.
